This blog, currently "uncurrent," could be considered one of the abandoned. Fitting into the early summer NYT article about dead sites as this, I am not vowing to continue, just to let it stay here, pickling in its own web juices to see what crawler picks it up to part of an internet "archive."

In Memoria

My Aunt Elaine was my great aunt. She was the aunt of my aunts. She was the closest thing to a grandmother that I know. She was homemade ice cream. She was rice wine vinegar. She was liverwurst and German cold cuts with fresh mozzarella. She was the best banana bread I have ever had. She was a bicycle and English classes with Japanese ladies. She was the house I stayed at the night before I moved into my freshman dorm. She was the chairs I sat on in my kitchen. She was my mother's ancestral world. Wherever she rests now, in peace, it will be a home.
